Dear Friend,
Welcome to our website, and to our spiritual community as well. The
First Universalist Church of Westfield Center has a long and
varied history. Our beautiful building has been consistently used for
worship since 1848. Although we are a small congregation, we are indeed
a congregation with a large and giving spirit. Our outreach touches
many people; some of whom attend our church while many do not.
We are a congregation which welcomes and values all people, regardless
of their age, their religious background, their ability, and their
sexual orientation. We value each person and desire to help one another
along the spiritual path of life. We encourage folks to think for
themselves and to ask questions, and while many of us would call
ourselves liberal
Christians, many other spiritual paths are valued and
encouraged.
We honor others' rights and you will not be labeled as a sinner by our
faith. We acknowledge the difficulty of living rightly each day of our
lives. We endeavor to learn from the religions of the world, from
science and nature, from poetry, from music and from each other. We
seek the sacred in all scripture.
Love is the doctrine of this church, the quest of truth is its
sacrament, and service is its prayer. During the past year some of our
worship highlights have included,
Holy Communion
honoring Jesus, Advent and Christmas celebrations, Easter, flower
communion, poetry Sunday, music Sunday, vocational Sundays, with many
instances of leadership coming from church members themselves.
If you are seeking a friendly, loving place to explore your own
spiritual path, please join us on any given Sunday at 10: 15 a.m. If
you desire to talk to me about your spiritual journey or have other
questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by e mail,

or by phone , 330 492-6044.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Rev. Rick Kidwell
