Social Justice

Social Justice is an area of concern for many of our congregations. Here are some resources we recommend:

Several of our states have statewide Legislative Advocacy groups. In Ohio, the group is UU Justice Ohio (UUJO); in Pennsylvania, UUPLAN (UU Pa Legislative Advocacy Network).

Energy Efficiency Audits - Rick Mazur is a State of Ohio registered and license professional Environmental/Energy/Mechanical Engineer with a lifelong interest in Energy Efficiency Audits (E2) and has conducted more than 50 energy E2 audits. He will conduct a comprehensive electrical and heating/cooling energy related whole building inspection and audit, focusing closely on the identification of practial and cost effective E2 improvements while conducting the audit. He identifies the no/low cost 1st step changes, the 2nd step changes that require some capital investment and also identify the more complex long term changes that will further reduce energy usage and improve the comfort and the overall environmental sustainability of your building. The audit allows him to develop a very practial action plan, rank the recommended changes and rank the return on investment energy cost savings with respect to the effort and related costs needing to make the changes. He is confident that implementing the changes he recommends will result in real costs savings that will exceed his fee, typically in about a year and certainly in less than 2-3 years. Fee ranges from $1200 to 2600 plus travel costs. For more information and to ask questions, contact Rick at rme2services@gmail.com.
