There is also a study guide that goes along with this report. You can download a pdf copy of the report at the commission's website. Also, Conrad Wright's Congregational Polity is available at the UUA website as a downloadable pdf file.

Movie Licenses for Congregations. Do you show movies in your congregation as part of a service? As part of babysitting? Part of youth group or other social gatherings? If so, you probably need a license for public viewings. Only showing movies in a class as part of a curriculum are exempt from the need for licenses. For more information about this issue, click here.

Congregational Handbook - another part of the UUA website offers some information and guidance for those who are trying to develop policies, procedures and by-laws for their congregations. This includes a downloadable version as a pdf file of the Congregational Handbook.

UUA Resources for Specific Sizes of Congregations. To find resources specific for your size of congregation check out the UUA sites for each size grouping:

  • If your congregation has up to 150 members, or up to about 125 at worship, please see www.uua.org/growth/small/.
  • Midsize Congregations as usually 150-550 members. Those with 150-350 members should find their resources at www.uua.org/growth/midsize. For those larger than 350, it is recommended that you use the large church resources.
