District Administrator

Beth Casebolt is the District Administrator for the Ohio-Meadville and has served in this position since November of 2007. Prior to taking on this role she served as the secretary of the OMD Board. She has also served the district as member and chair of the Lifespan Faith Development Committee, Children's Program Coordinator for Summer Institute 2003 and as a Small Congregation Liaision. She is a member of the Association of UU Administrators and serves on their credentialing committee. Beth began her service to Unitarian Universalism as a religious educator, she is a credentialed religious educator, associate level; a trainer of teachers for the Our Whole Lives program elementary ages; a member of the Liberal Religious Educators Association and a mentor for the religious educators' credentialing program. Beth has a BS in Nursing from Alderson-Broaddus College and is a certified pediatric nurse. She also works as the Technical Director for the Theater Department of Ohio University Eastern Campus. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her partner and their two college age children and doing needle and fabric crafts.

She can either answer your questions or will forward your questions to whoever she knows can provide the answers you need. Beth is responsible for putting together OMD Now and the website, please submit any materials for either of these publications to the office, or contact her for questions. She also handles registration for many district events and handles our financial requests. If you have questions about either of these areas, please contact her at the office.

The District has resources and consultants who can provide help in a number of ways. Here are some suggestions for when to call the district office:

• Your District Office and District Staff are here to be your “first call for help” in any matter related to being a vibrant, growing, mission-driven congregation
• When your congregation doesn’t have a mission statement or a strategic plan and seems “dead in the water.”
• When you think your Board would benefit by having an orientation session, training, and/or goal setting session.
• When you want to know more about hospitality and welcoming visitors.
• When your religious education program needs some visioning work.
• When your minister announces that she/he is leaving.
• When the congregation is anticipating some major change.
• When your Committee on Ministry needs help clarifying their role.
• When your congregation is growing, your Board meetings are four hours long, and people are burning out.
• When your congregation is considering starting a campus ministry outreach.
• When your congregation needs some help in setting up a Personnel Committee.
• When you want some help with ideas on how to run the annual canvass.
• When your youth advisors need training.
